HEALING Journey (a.k.a. Therapy-Online )

In therapy, on the HEALING journey, I see you as the driver and my role as the navigator. That means you choose where you want to go, and I pull out the GPS, maps, and compass to help you find ways to get there. Just like with Google maps, there are often a few routes to choose from, detours, roadblocks etc... These are all part of the journey, and together we will re-route, speed up, slow down, or pull over when needed. Some of the healing frameworks (routes) I use often are:
Narrative Therapy: We all have a story. Often our problems only let us see one side of the story, which keeps us stuck. This approach helps us examine the story of your life, and helps you, the main character, rewrite the story that keeps you stuck. It's time for a NEW story.... the story of your BEST LIFE! Trauma Informed Strategies: At the root of many of our problems is a pain so deep or a trauma so big that it plays over and over again- day and night. These strategies will help you heal by moving the pain out of your daily pathway, helping you cope with overwhelming feelings, and ultimately help you find STRENGTH and GOLD at the broken places.
ACT-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: ACCEPTANCE is the pathway to peace. ACT will help you accept yourself as you are now. It helps you accept your feelings, your thoughts, and your actions- even if you don't like them. Acceptance helps you stop fighting yourself so you have the energy to COMMIT to what you want. COMMITMENT keeps you focused on doing things that lead to your BEST LIFE!!!
Solution Focused and Choice Theory: Sometimes we just need a new SOLUTION to our old problems or we need to explore our CHOICES and OPTIONS. Solution-Focused and Choice Theory methods help you uncover the next best thing to do. They help you keep doing what works, and to change what doesn't work.
